I'm a Part of Pasumian 2013/2014 Part VII (Separation & IV)

Assalamualaikum my precious readers.

Allah... Still can't stop my tears...

Singkatnya tempoh setahun, tapi masih mampu menyulam cinta, yang bakal kekal hingga ke syurga, InSya'Allah. Though we are aware of parting and separation, but still, brave enough to create memories that will eventually put us in a deep sadness.

“Kak Farah, itulah orang kata, jangan suka-suka sangat, nanti kesedihan yang bakal dialami teruk.”

“Allah... I don't even feel any regret creating beautiful memories in PASUM. Teringat dulu masa MHS, abang FP itu kata, memang penat PASUM ini but once you've finished your PASUM year, awak akan rasa sedih nak tinggalkan PASUM.”

“Aku dah nak balik. Thanks for everything. Jumpa dekat Faculty of Dentistry, UM nanti, InSya'Allah“ - Juwairiyah Wafa

(Starting to get to know Wafa in Sem 2)
People walk into your life, giving hope, sadness, memory and many more. But the most important part is the love they gave to you though for only just a few months. One of my favourite things to do as I realize this PASUM days going to end sooner than what I've expected is capturing photos.

“So lame Kak Farah. Macam budak-budak yang tak matang je.”

Fine. Know what, through blogging, capturing pictures, writing, at least I can recall all the memories and share them with others.

“Tidak semua orang suka buang masa tulis blog macam Kak Farah kan?”

OK. Double fine there. It's about satisfaction people~

“Goodbyes are only for those who love with their eyes. For those who love with their hearts and soul, there is no such thing as separation. Do not grieve, something you lose might comes in another form. Do not fear the future, as nothing will last forever.” - Mewlana Jalaluddin Rumi

I like being alone,
I like drinking coffee alone, and reading alone.
I like riding the bus alone, and walking home alone.
It gives me time to think, and set my mind free.

But when I see a mother with her child,
a lady with her zauj,
or maybe a friend with his or her best friend,
I realize that even though I like being alone,
I don't fancy being alone.

Enough talking about separation and parting. Now let's talk about interview. Last year, I was totally busy with all this interview stuff dan sangat memenatkan bila kena travel here and there. Interview PASUM, PETRONAS at Taylor University, MARA in Bangi, FELDA at The Zone in Ampang, dan seangkatan dengannya. Almaklum, Kak Farah bukan anak VVIPPPPPPP, nak sambung belajar terpaksa cari scholarship.
And just finished my interview this morning, seriously nervous. Semua yang datang dengan bawa kertas dan script, I was like,

“Allah... I'm not as well prepared as them.”

Sebab dulu, ingat lagi, bila jumpa interviewer, just talk and talk and talk as if you are not going to stop. Sampai kehausan pun ada. Sudahlah kena duduk sebelah orang yang hebat-hebat, pelajar emas pun satu group dengan Kak Farah. Risau but managed to keep calm and talk almost fluently with them.

Some of the tips during interview:

1. Knock the door first.
2. Ask, may I come in?
3. Walk confidently and hand it your certs to the panels (just do it even if they didn't ask)
4. Ask, may I be seated?
5. First question : Introduce yourself
6.Lelaki tak sesuai pakai baju stripes / kotak-kotak. Baju plain, seluar hitam & kasut hitam.
Perempuan sesuai pakai baju kurung. Tudung jangan fancy sangat.
7. Do your resume, at least compile your certificates neatly.
8. Enjoy the show. Put your mask on and keep on talking. Relax and be confident!

Some of the common questions during interview:

1. What makes you feel so passionate to become a dentist?
2. In dentistry, there are specialization, are you aware of that? Name some.
3. Case study... “If you have a friend, and he is studying dentistry just because of money, what are you going to do? Advice?”
4. Who is our VC?
5. In any field of carrier, there must be the hardest part of it. What do you think about dentistry?
6. You've watched the video and do the wire-bending test, what is your opinion about that?
7. What are the values from the video that you've watched before?
8. Do you think wire-bending test should be continue for the next intakes?
9. Rate your work out of ten.
I rate it 8 out of 10.
10. Do you have any family members or friends who inspire you to become a dentist?
*All the question are based on my experience for my UM autonomy interview for BDS, #4 is from my friend. MBBS? They might ask you about diseases or something.
40% of the places in Science-based courses are for PASUMian

P/s : Pray for me, readers. Dentist in the making. InSya'Allah, BDS Malaya this September.

I'm a Part of Pasumian 2013/2014 Part VI (End Point)

Assalamualaikum cinta.

“Hyperbola lah Kak Farah. Sengajalah itu nak ambil hati sebab dah lama menyepi.”
“Hummm.
“Waalaikumsalam rindu"

Tak apalah, abaikan kisah romantik kami rakan sekelas tutorial. Well, I've been ‘busy’ for these past few weeks. Final, acceptance test, interview, etc. Husnul khatimah InSya'Allah...
Macam biasa tadi baru mukaddimah.

“Saya dah habis PASUM!!!”
“Kak Farah ini, dah habis PASUM macam dah naik roket tawan angkasa lepas.”

OK fine!
Mungkin sebab kapasiti otak dah banyak delete.
After for almost 1 year, maybe this is the turning point of my life. Not really my life I guess. Being a Pasumian is like gaining my latent heat, changing from phase A to B. From being a naive girl who knew nothing about survival to someone who is... *actually I just don't have any idea on how to describe myself*

Once UM, always UM

Kenapa PASUM? Kenapa? Kenapa? Kenapa?

Positive sides...

  • Dapat jumpa manusia yang seriously pelbagai ragam. Bekas pelajar SMA, SBP, private school. Sememangnya sekolah memang memainkan peranan dalam membentuk seseorang. But this doesn't apply to ALL students for sure.
Sillibus? All Science subjects.
Tips will definitely be given by lecturers
Easy access to your friends' room right? *I mean of the same gender* Ada tasik tempat dating dengan roommate / floormates. Ada cafe yang besar berbanding KK lain.
  • Rules? Tidak sebanyak other matriculation college. Nak pergi kelas, asalkan baju formal, kasut bertutup kalau kelas di Kompleks PASUM yang tersergam indah, and that's it. Kalau boleh pakailah Student card.
  • Exam based on what we have studied before.
Setiap minggu? No problem! Like Kak Farah kan...
  • Amenities? Banyak sangat. Tapi nak highlight kan dekat KK12 ada dobi *never been there anyway*.
  • Semua bilik tutorial, lecture hall, and most lab are air-conditioned. Tu diaaaa.... Heat pump using heating mode baq hang. Selesa sangat. Jadi apa alasan untuk ponteng? Nahi!
  • Untuk Final, satu hari satu paper. Capacity otak mungkin boleh recharge diacharge each day lah kan.
  • Kuasa autonomi UM! And most of them were Chinese.
Eg. many of your lecturers were the alumni. Bangga tidak?
  • Most (95%) of your lecturers have PhD. Pakar-pakar belaka, cedoklah ilmu sepuas hati awak daripada mereka.

Negative sides...

Kita dianggap sama sahaja. Tapi jangan sedih, kalau dapat pointer bagus, nothing can bring you down except Him.
Depends on your lecturers and how your class rep negotiate with your tutors.
  • Serious tak banyak negative sides sebab PASUM itu sangat best! Seriously. Trust your Kak Farah!

Summary:

  • 26/5/2013 Minggu Haluan Siswa, MHS
  • 12/8/2013 Mid-sem 1
  • 14/10/2013 Final Sem 1
  • 20/1/2014 Mid-sem 2
  • 31/3/2014 Final Sem 2

Be yourself are meant for us to return to Islam, itu adalah 'Be yourself' yang hakiki.

Kena culik?"

"Main hide-and-seek mungkin. Terduduk kaku di lubuk hati." (I'm laughing while typing this. Bahasa Oh Bahasa. Well, bahasa kan jiwa bangsa)
Tutorialmates : Vida 3 ( means dearly loved in Hebrew )
Practicalmates : V1, V2 and V3

P/s : Seriously I love PASUM so much and going to miss all these kinds of things, related to PASUM.
